We are only 40 minutes from Edinburgh, probably one of the best cities in the world (not that we're biased!). If you fancy exploring the city for a day or 2 then we've included some of our favourite places and things to do.

• Love Crumbs - for the best cakes around
• La Favourita - no trip to scotland is complete without a haggis pizza afterall!
• The Cellar Door - delicious modern scottish
• Chop Chop - the best dumplings in town
• Union of Genius - grab the most delicious soup you'll ever eat at this lunch spot

Places to drink:

• Voodoo Rooms - for a cool cocktail bar with a steampunk vibe
• The Hanging Bat - for a great gin menu and home brewed beers
• Panda and Sons - for a panda themed secret speakeasy
• Brauhaus - for the biggest beer menu you'll find in the city

For adventurers and nature lovers

• Mountain biking at Glentress
• Hike to the 3 Brethern (or any of the beautiful walks in the area)
• Visit a distillery to learn how Whisky is made and try a dram
• Learn about nature at the Scottish Seabird Centre
• Greymare's Tail, one of Scotlands most loved waterfalls
• Keep an eye out for the wildlife we've been lucky to spot red squirrels, deer, seals, otters and birds of all varieties!
• Visit the quaint towns and find local artisans
